Location

The municipality of Gstadt is situated in an absolutely privileged dream location directly on the shores of Lake Chiemsee, nestled in the idyllic Alpine foothills. Historically, Gstadt belonged to the Frauenchiemsee monastery, which is located on the opposite Fraueninsel. In 1818, Gstadt became an independent municipality and is part of the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim.

The town has around 1,200 inhabitants and offers an intact, sophisticated living environment with a good infrastructure. Shopping facilities for daily needs as well as cafés and restaurants are available in the town. Gstadt has its own landing stage with connections to Frauenchiemsee and Herrenchiemsee, to Prien and to the Chiemsee cruise.
