Around 1900, four neighboring Art Nouveau estates of great urban planning significance were built in the west of Munich. These historic "Pasing villa colonies", designed by famous architects such as August Exter, Bernhard Borst and Richard Riemerschmid, served as models and were intended to offer wealthy citizens the opportunity to live in an idyllic garden landscape. One of these villa colonies is the "Waldkolonie" between Maria-Eich-Straße and the city park.
